Dave Krieg was inducted into the Ring of Honor on September 26, 2004 during halftime of the Seahawks-49ers game. Krieg was the 10th-highest-rated quarterback in NFL history after spending 12 extremely productive seasons with the Seahawks, playing in 129 career games and starting all but 10 of those. He holds the Seahawks team records for pass completions (2,096); pass attempts (3,576 ); total passing yards (26,132); touchdown passes (195); and interceptions (148). He also holds the Seahawks single-season records in quarterback rating (95.0); touchdowns thrown (32); passing attempts (532); and completion percentage (65.6%). Krieg was a three-time Pro Bowl participant ('84, '88 and '89), and in 1991 he became the 31st player in NFL history to pass for 25,000 career yards. He passed for 3,000 yards four times ('84-85, '89-90). Krieg threw his 100th touchdown pass in his 65th game, and only two quarterbacks had done it quicker (Dan Marino-44 & Johnny Unitas-53). He led Seattle to an appearance in the AFC Championship Game in 1983. His 65.5% completion percentage in 1991 led the NFL and set a new team record. As a quarterback he rushed 294 times for 1,090 yards (3.7 avg.) with 10 touchdowns, and he also caught 2 passes for 5 yards.
He became the starter for the final three games in 1981 after Jim Zorn suffered a broken ankle, and in 1982 he was named the starter after the preseason and opened the first two games. In 1984 he started all 16 regular season games and led the Seahawk to their best ever record of 12-4, and into the playoffs for the second straight season. His streak of at least one touchdown pass in 28 games, the NFL's second-longest ever, was snapped on 11/17/85 against New England. In 1990 Krieg was the only NFL quarterback to take every offensive snap and attempt every pass.
